This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about visitors to [•] (the “Site”), donors, volunteers, applicants, clients, and others who interact with us. By using the Site or providing information to us, you acknowledge the practices described here.

Information we collect

Information you provide. When you donate, sign up for our newsletter, apply to volunteer, request services as a nonprofit client, or contact us, you may share your name, email, mailing address, phone number, employer or organization, professional background, payment information (handled by our payment processors), and the contents of any messages you send.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may collect information about your device and your interaction with the Site, including IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and similar usage data. We use cookies and similar technologies to do this; more on that below.

Information from third parties. We may receive information about you from social media platforms when you interact with our content, from donor management or fundraising platforms, and from our nonprofit clients (for example, when you are designated as a client point of contact for a BANC engagement).

How we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only as follows:
-

-
Volunteers and clients in connection with engagements. We share volunteer information with assigned clients, and client information (including designated points of contact) with assigned volunteers. Confidentiality is governed by our standard volunteer and client agreements.

Donor privacy
BANC respects the privacy of its donors and follows the principles of the Donor Bill of Rights. We do not sell, rent, or trade donor lists. Unless you tell us otherwise (for example, by authorizing recognition in a public donor list or annual report), we treat your donor status and gift amount as confidential. You can ask at any time to be removed from our donor lists, solicitation lists, or public recognition by emailing us at the address below.

Cookies and analytics
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and improve performance. If you give us your email address, we may send newsletters, program updates, fundraising appeals, and similar messages. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us. We may continue to send transactional or relationship messages (donation acknowledgments, engagement communications) even after you opt out of marketing.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for safeguarding any password you use to access our services.

Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, to comply with legal, accounting, and reporting obligations, and to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Donor records may be kept for the period required by tax and charitable-solicitation laws.

Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to access, correct, update, or delete personal information we hold about you, and you may opt out of marketing communications. Depending on where you live (including, for California residents, under the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have additional rights, such as the right to know what personal information we have collected, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
